Lindon voters chose three Johnsons in a tight election for mayor and council posts. Willard Johnson edged Kent Taylor and Ted Eugene Maag for mayor with 288 votes to 160 and 109. Council seats went to V Douglas Johnson 311 and Wayne Johnson 308, ahead of James Sorenson 307 and Len Anderson 170. Incumbents LeRoy Fryer Darrell Frampton and Wayne Johnson previously held seats.

Mountain Bell begins a $4 million 68,586 square foot building addition in Provo next to 75 East 100 North to expand long distance switching capacity.
