Graduation Exercises Honor Seventy Two
Friday evening held graduation exercises for seventy two graduates with an orchestral overture, formal procession, diplomas, and awards. Abel Ekins received a gold medal for best man in athletics, relay victors honored, and a dance followed the program. A separate Tiitipanogos stake Seminary commencement at the Stake Tabernacle featured Prof. Martin advising on eternal marriage as fifty three members earned diplomas after a three year course.

Clarence Marrott a 39 year old farmer from Windsor ward died Friday morning in a Provo hospital after several days of blood poisoning caused by a finger sliver. Born July 18 1897 in Lindon he married Gladys Peck of Vineyard in 1916 and left six children Eld 18 Reva 16 Ruth 15 Verlyn 12 Phyllis 7 Kay 3. Funeral Monday at 2 pm Windsor ward chapel Bishop Stanley Harris presiding. many attended and sent floral tributes.

Local boys win honors at Rocky Mountain track meet
Lee Gourley traveled to Denver on May 19 to attend the Rocky Mountain conference track meet and returned Sunday as he won the pole vault with a perfect 13 foot jump. Abel Ekins set the Alpine District high hurdles record at Orem and earned the Ross Nielsen gold medal with 15 points. Russell Nielsen, Abel’s teammate, placed second with 144 points and won the 100 yard dash. Pleasant Grove Junior High led with 50 points.
