Strawberry Days Nearing Big Pleasant Grove Celebration

Strawberry Days plans are finalized for June 10 to 12 in Pleasant Grove with Clive Beck as general chair and Arnold Ray Green as co chair. The schedule includes parades, Flower and Art Show, RCA approved rodeo, Youth events, Readers Theater, stock parade and a relay swim meet, plus drones of food stands and rides for all ages.

Henson W. Nielsen son of Douglas Nielsen of Lindon and husband of Michelle Seely of Pleasant Grove earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. He joins nine other graduates in June commencement. Nielsen, a Pleasant Grove High School alum, served a Texas LDS mission and studied at Utah State before CSU. He and his wife and three children live in Vernal where he practices with cousin Eddie Oscarson.

Walkers Set to Retire From Alpine School District

An open house will honor Jess and Elaine Walker for their retirements from Alpine School District at Lehi Junior High on Saturday May 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. Elaine taught 21 years in Lehi after starting in Iron County and served as librarian. Jess spent 15 years as Public Relations Director and Vocational Director, with a career in English and debate and prior industry and business experience. The couple, with four children and fourteen grandchildren, looks forward to more family time in retirement.
