Miss Laura Banner is named Recreational Director for Pleasant Grove summer. Irwin Jenson leads music. Margaret Meeks assists. Playground opens May 24 with activities from May 26 1 PM to 6 PM Monday through Friday. Activities include crafts, tumbling, tap dancing, and creative dancing with a planned play. optional Friday swimming if arranged with the city. A Ward League and Junior Sailor High girls league start May 26 with weekly scheduled games and practice urged for ward scout captains.

The American Legion Auxiliary began preparing for Poppy Day on May 29 after receiving fifteen hundred hand crafted crepe paper poppies shipped from Salt Lake City.
