Mack Palmer was named Pleasant Grove Utah Stake president at the Alpine Tabernacle with Elder S Dilworth Young as visiting authority. Seminary Graduation Honors Combined Pleasant Grove and Timpanogos
On Friday May 20 1977 the 56th annual graduation exercises will honor graduates from Pleasant Grove and Timpanogos Stakes at the Timpanogos Stake Center starting 7 00 p m. Ninety nine Pleasant Grove graduates receive diplomas with seven certificates while 68 Timpanogos graduates receive diplomas with four certificates. Six graduates from other stakes also receive diplomas. President Evan Mack Palmer and President David C Harvey will present awards. Rex Reeve Jr Institute Director will deliver the guest address.

Rodeo Queen Contest Set After Rainout
Adamson and Strawberry Days Rodeo chairmen announce the Rodeo Queen contest will be held Wednesday May 28 with the same schedule as planned. Tea for contestants at 5 p.m. at West Winds Cafe, preliminaries for kids and roping for adults begin about 7 20 p.m. Queen contest around 8 p.m. with later events for older contestants. Local cowboys may sign up for competition.

Pleasant Grove High School will hold commencement exercises Friday May 27 in the gym at 7 30 p m. The event has no seating limit and no tickets are required. Seniors with a GPA of 3 85 or better are named as graduates with Lynette Macfarlane and Raymond Walker as valedictorians. The program features multiple students speaking on themes such as future horizons and reaching beyond mediocrity, a flute solo, a mixed chorus, and diplomas presented by school officials.
