Swanee Singers to Perform in Pleasant Grove High School

The renowned Swanee Singers from Salt Lake City will give a concert at Pleasant Grove High School Auditorium on Friday May 11 at 8 p.m. The choir, celebrated since 1941 for its versatility, will feature a broad repertoire from pre-Bach to Mormon and early American tunes. Proceeds benefit the Lindon Ward building fund with Malhon Smith and councils directing ticket sales.

Death of Jefferson G Hunt prompts funeral in Pleasant Grove

Jefferson G Hunt 75 died Thursday after a stroke suffered in Cedar City two weeks earlier. Funeral services set for Saturday May 12 at 1 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Second Ward with burial at Enterprise. Survivors include his widow four sons Miles Dover Keith Dean and two daughters, plus 16 grandchildren. Burial by Olpin Mortuary at Enterprise with viewing at the home Saturday morning.

Pleasant Grove will field a notably improved team in the Central Utah Baseball League this season. Manager Lloyd Shannon announced a Sunday May 20 opener at 2 p.m. against American Fork, with Cliff Hales as co sponsor. Pleasant Grove sailor Kay Jacobs reports 45 openings in the U S Navy Reserve unit at Salt Lake City with aviation ratings. Jobs listed include aviation machinist mate, aviation electronics technician, aviation ordnance man and aviation electrician's mate.
