Paul Allen Elected President of PGHS Student Body 1957 58

Paul Allen was chosen president of Pleasant Grove High School student body for 1957 58 at last week’s elections. Brute Gray was named vice president Judy Tolley secretary and Nola Ash program chairman. The officers will take office at the start of the 1957 58 school year in September.

Mrs Josephine West celebrated her 92nd birthday at home on May 2 surrounded by family and friends. Born in 1865 she has lived in Pleasant Grove her entire life. Her husband Nathaniel West died in October 1954.

Local FFA Students Visit Utah State College in Logan

Pleasant Grove High School FFA members visited Utah State College in Logan for state judging contests on Dairy products Meats Livestock and Dairy. Teams placed third in Dairy and Meats events with several individual competitors named. On the trip return they toured the Logan Temple and Ogden Tabernacle with Pleasant Grove Seminary students.

Jaycees Plan Build of Community Center in Pleasant Grove

Pleasant Grove to construct a $10 000 community building at the recreational area funded by the city and Jaycees. The city council appropriated $3 000, with Jaycees to supply labor and ongoing support, plans call for a hall 28 by 48 feet plus kitchen utility and storage rooms adjacent to highway 91 near the baseball field.
