Seminary Graduation Exercises Set for May 13
The L DS Seminary of Timpanogos Stake will hold graduation exercises next Tuesday May 13 under principal William Smith. The sixty one graduates, both young men and women, will present talks and musical numbers themed The Spirit of the Pioneer in Song and Story. The event begins at 8 o'clock in the High School auditorium and is open to the public.

Funeral Rites Wednesday For Fred Culmer
Relatives and friends gathered at Pleasant Grove First Ward chapel for Fred Culmer's funeral service conducted by Lindon ward officials. Speakers praised his thrift and trustworthiness. interment followed at Pleasant Grove cemetery with family pallbearers. Culmer, born March 16, 1884 in Pleasant Grove, was a farmer and painter involved in civic and church activities. survived by a widow, three children, a foster son, two sisters, ten grandchildren, and other relatives.

Indians Are Coming On Strawberry Day
Thirty Shoshone Indians will be brought to Pleasant Grove for Utah Strawberry Days June 4 5 6 and 7 according to Neldon Lim president of the local rodeo association. They will par ticipate in the parades and entertain the crowds at the four night rodeos in highly colored costumes and will be an outstanding feature. Jean Anderson of Pleasant Grove is named valedictorian of the 1947 BYU graduating class, as announced by Howard S. McDonald president. She will deliver the commencement address June 4 and receive a bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences with a history major. Her four year total includes 176 credit hours A and 7 B credit for a 2.96 average. She is active in White Key and other student activities and is a Pleasant Grove High School alumna.

Lindon Resident Dies Sunday
Lindon resident Alexander Leonard Millar 63 died Sunday at 7 15 PM at the family home after a lingering illness. Born October 5 1883 in American Fork he married Elizabeth Green in 1906 and lived in American Fork Magna before moving to Pleasant Grove in 1920. He left a widow seven sons and daughters and 11 grandchildren with several siblings. Funeral services are scheduled Saturday at 2 PM in the Pleasant Grove First Ward Chapel.

Strawberry Day Rodeo Set With Four Day Event
Dr J C Sorenson, rodeo producer, plans the Strawberry Thy Rodeos in Pleasant Grove June 4 5 6 and 7 with about a hundred cowboys. Prize money totals around 4000 attracting top talent. Sorenson will attend Heldorado in Las Vegas to recruit World champion rodeo men. Officials report 40 certificates credits toward World's Championship Honors and events include steer roping bull riding bronc riding saddle bronc and other rodeo competitions with 2124 per event and daily prize money of 625.
