Merrill N Warnick announces a farmer financed American Dairy Association business action program at the ADA annual meeting in Chicago. The plan calls for 5 million dollars over three years to boost advertising merchandising and dairy research nationwide to expand markets for butter and other dairy products with a sales not surplus aim.

A farewell testimonial honoring Robert E Walker will be held Sunday evening March 2 at the Vineyard ward chapel at 7:00. He departs for LDS mission field after the service. Walker, son of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Walker, is a 1942 graduate of the local high school and attended BYU one year before 84 months in the U S Maritime Service. He served as third mate on Atlantic and Pacific routes. On April 7 he enters the LDS mission school in Salt Lake City and will depart for the New England States mission.
First Ward will feature Calvin Swenson as speaker with music by the Central School Orchestra directed by Rulon Brimnall on Sunday evening March 23. Manila Ward riders present in Lindon Ward, while Pleasant Grove Seminary students lead Sacrament meeting in Grove Ward on the same date.
The Modernettes met at Mrs. Joseph Chorneak’s home with Tripoli entertainment. Prizes went to Mrs. Pearl Fowkle and Mrs. Chorneak. A pot luck lunch followed. Committee members were Pearl Fowlke Virginia Chipmat and June Chorneak.
The Pleasant Grove Vikings earned consolation honors in the state class B tourney. Final OT win 46 45 over American Fork with Hilton scoring a late basket, Harris Westover and Bob Hilton cited for strong plays. Grantsville edged by Alpine rivals before the close.
In Salt Lake City the home of Mr and Mrs Bara Ash hosted a pleasant family party on Sunday March 16 in honor of Mrs Thelma Ash Fackerall. Attending were Mr and Mrs May Ash Gillman, Mr and Mrs Ernest Ash, Mr and Mrs William Ash of Pleasant Grove, Mr and Mrs Arnold Ash of Provo, Mr and Mrs Eldon Ash of Springville, Mr and Mrs Dan Peterson, Mr and Mrs Cecil Ash of Lehi, Mr and Mrs Hilding Neilson, and the hosts.
Clarence Ashton announces a gardening demonstration on pruning shrubs in Lindon this Friday March 21. The beautification committee sponsors the tour beginning at the Rogers home with guided stops along the route for residents interested in shrub care.
Do J V Hoyt spoke to the Cadmus Club on March 17 at the Second Ward Recressional Hall. The BYU professor described early Mayan peoples linking their history with Book of Mormon events and screened motion pictures including a bull fight in Mexico City. Attendees included Mrs Hoyt Mrs Nell L Taylor plus Miss Julie Rodan. refreshments followed as President Lytha W Johnson presided.
The Variety club met at Mrs Mary Harper's home on Locust Avenue. Guests included Ida Halliday Merle Annitstead Orn Boren Ruby Wine ner Nina Hunter Hazel Bulloch and Winn Brjedehurst. Mrs Ruby Warnick and Mrs Wanda Blarkhurst covered prizes.
