At the first board meeting of the Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce Ertman Christensen was re elected president with Harvey Smith as vice president and Vilace Radmall as secretary treasurer. Manila ward residents enjoyed a dancing party sponsored by the Manila Ward Relief Society marking the organization’s 101st year. Funeral rites for Wm L Hoffman were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:60 in the First Ward L C Chapel with Bishop Junius A West in charge. The service opened with the ward choir singing I Need There Beery Hour, with Elvin Thorne on the organ. Speakers included Gotlich Buhler and Thos A King who spoke of neighborliness and hospitality. Pallbearers were Farris Hoffman Harold Hoffman Ted Fountain Hneh Blohm Glade Tine and Glade Wright. Burial followed at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with J L Adams pronouncing the benediction and Bishop Jesse K Thorne offering the dedicatory prayer.

Sergeant David Blackhurst enjoyed a furlough with his parents at Camp Forrest Tennessee. Private Adrian Atkinson visits relatives from Albany Georgia. Second Lieut Teed Mathews Commissioned at Fort Sill
Congratulations pour in for Second Lieut Teed Mathews who received his commission on March 11 at the Field Artillery School Fort Sill Oklahoma. After two weeks here he will report to Fort Leonard Wood. Mathews son of Mr and Mrs Glen Mathews grew up in Pleasant Grove High School left for California with Utah National Guard then trained at Fort Sill his father a WWI AEF veteran.
