City Chess Tourney Set for Wednesday and Thursday
The City Chess Tournament is scheduled for March 17 and 18 in the Pleasant Grove Jr High lunchroom under Russ Snyder. Evening play begins at 7 p.m with a $1.50 resident fee and $2.00 nonresidents. Save Wetlands Theme For Nat Wildlife Week
The 39th National Wildlife Week will use Save Our Wetlands as its theme. More than 10 million students teachers and conservation group members are expected to participate March 14–20. National Wildlife Federation executive vice president Thomas L. Kimball emphasizes wetlands as vital to wildlife water purification and recreation. He laments development destroying wetlands and notes about 22 million acres are now being preserved, while urging further action.
