Sunrise Serenade Junior Prom Set at Pleasant Grove High

Pleasant Grove High School plans the Sunrise Serenade junior prom tonight at 9. The theme features sunrise colors with blue and gold decorations. Fred Loveless Orchestra will play for twelve dances plus four extras under co chairs Jay Johnson and Jan Fisher with a large committee and faculty advisers.

Free X Rays for Lindon Residents Today

Lindon residents aged 15 and over may receive free X rays from a mobile unit in Lindon April 11. Service runs from noon to 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the LDS Lindon Ward House. A Lindon Ward meeting led by County Director Donna Gillies reviewed final arrangements with Ray C. Walker and hostesses Marie Johnson Emma Christiansen Mazel Christiansen and Margaret Holdaway assisting with advertising.

Free Chest X-Ray Unit To Visit Pleasant Grove

The Utah Department of Health sponsors a free chest x-ray service for adults and youths 16 and older. The unit will be on Main Street March 16 17 18 and 21 and at the High School on March 22 for students. Authorities urge yearly x-rays for all and emphasize early detection of lung disease. Arrangements are by Mrs Rae Christensen and Mrs Lela R Banks of the county health groups.

Graduates Highlight Nursing Program At Central Utah Vocational School

Ernest Dean reports 182 Practical Nursing graduates since the department started. Students train five days a week for eleven months and enter hospitals, institutions, or homes earning at least 200 dollars monthly. A separate incident notes a Provo street brawl among teen hot rodders, contrasted with disciplined nursing education.

Four Lane Road Project Planned in Pleasant Grove

Elden Johnson, city streets committee chair, announced a four lane highway from Center Street and Main Street west to Highway 1. No start date set yet. Harley Corleissen, state road commission chair, approved the project after talks with city officials by telephone.

Chamber Banquet Honors Local Citizens At Water Project Talk

Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce held its annual banquet at the Timpanogos Stake House on Wednesday night. George L. Smith was recognized as a charter member of the organization while other local citizens were honored for various contributions. A presentation included a talk and film about the town water project.

All classes were excused on Monday March 7 as Lindon Elementary welcomed parents and PTA room mothers to visit teachers by appointment. Kindergarten was not in session and will attend another day for a separate kindergarten tea.

Max A Hunsaker is appointed assistant manager of the Paul L. Harmon Buick and Pontiac distributors. Lindon Lions Visit State Prison Guests Tour Prison

Lindon Lions and guests toured the State Prison at Point of the Mountain with 159 attendees including Lindon Mayor Harold Keath, Pleasant Grove Mayor Ed Roberts, and Lions District Governor Otto Pry. Visitors split into groups, learned prison procedures, and joined a post tour discussion with Warden Farley.

City awards sewer and disposal plant contracts

The Citi Pounell meeting awarded three sewer units to Ralph Childs and J. Ke Thomas Co for a total of 393 000, and the Disposal Plant contract to Montgomery Cornwall and Parker for 146 000. Work to start by March 21 with applications due by March 30 for sewer stubs and connections at City Hall.

Mr and Mrs Alonzo Hooley of Lindon celebrated their 88th wedding anniversary at home on March 8 with immediate family visiting. Married March 8 1886 in Pleasant Grove the couple later wed in Logan LDS church and lived in Utah County.
