Grove Theatre to Open With Major Improvements in July

The Grove Theatre, rebuilt after a recent fire, is set to reopen in the first week of July under manager Keith Miller. Upgrades include new acoustics, insulation, and fireproof materials, a 15 foot addition for heating and ventilation, cement seating area, a larger stage opening, expanded seating for 100 more patrons, modern lighting, and safety features.

American Legion Holds Post 70 Election on July 2

Mona Williams of Provo was honored Thursday afternoon at a prenuptial shower by Mrs. Leon Jackson in the ward recreation hall. Lindon Ward M L A in Lindon reorganized with Donna Gillis and Willis Larson leading the organization since last Sunday evening. Cherry Picker Jobs Open in Utah County

Department of Employment Security reports 700 cherry pickers needed in Utah County for this year s cherry crop. A large number of raspberry pickers are also sought in Pleasant Grove. Ages 14 to 20 and older may apply at City Hall or by calling 3501. Transportation provided for out of town workers if outside help is not secured.

Warnick Family Featured On Recordings

The Warnick family enjoyed a memorable recording session on Monday at their home. Bill Orme, editor of Thin Business of Warming at St, cath, attended and helped with two records. One featured Mr. and Mrs. Warnick, the other included the children. The event occurred Tuesday and Wednesday mornings with timing by KEL.

Provo Plans Outstanding July Fourth Celebration

Provo will stage a long standing July Fourth celebration with a public patriotic meeting July 4 at the Provo Tabernacle headlined by Rev. Arthur W. Moulton, and a band concert. July 5 features a street parade, children's sports, boat races, a baseball game, carnival attractions, and a gala BYU stadium show culminating in a record fireworks display with a 149 Ford prize to be awarded to a present winner.

Nevada Youth Buried In Pleasant Grove Cemetery

Johnny Kirk aged 1 died Tuesday in Ely Nevada after an accidental shooting. Internment held Saturday at 10 am in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Survived by parents three brothers two sisters and three grandparents. Out of town relatives gathered from Aberdeen Idaho Lehi Magna Salt Lake City and other Utah areas. Funeral services had been held in Ely Thursday at noon. Johnny was born September 11, 1936 to Wallace and Cora Tomlinson Kirk.

Anthony Ivins To Speak At Conference

Road West Of Pleasant Grove Is Resurfaced

A major road resurfacing near Pleasant Grove was completed in the past week. Under supervisor Hagingam Weldon Lim, the highway from Banke corner West to Coreigen service station was rebuilt, improving a previously rough section with oil mat covering. The improved route promises a smoother drive.
