Liberty Bell Replica Heads to Pleasant Grove on Monday

The Liberty Bell replica touring Utah will visit Pleasant Grove next Monday June 5 at 1515 hours. The bell, one of 52 on the Independence Savings Bond Drive, is donated by copper producers including Kennecott Copper Corp and American Smelting and Refining Co. The stay and hardware come from U S Steel Corp American Bridge Co, with Lester H Hoesch commanding the Utah Motor Transport Association unit. An Army recruiting service unit will accompany the display after May 29.

Retiring Principal Is Honored at Two Gratuous Events

Karl Banks retiring principal of Pleasant Grove high school was guest of honor at two events last week. On May 25 students held an assembly in the auditorium with Dale Thomas as student body president in charge. Pleasant Grove High Band to Lead Strawberry Days Parades

The Pleasant Grove high school band directed by Irwin Jensen with drum majorette Colleen Alfred will lead the Utah Strawberry Days parades next Wednesday morning and evening and Friday evening. New uniforms and community support, led by Band Mothers, bolster the band’s patriotic display on Main Street.

Ann Story Named 1950 Cedar Fort Rodeo Queen

Miss Ann Story a 19 year old brunette from Cedar Fort will preside at the Strawberry Day Rodeos during a four day celebration beginning Wednesday June 7. She will ride Goldie a horse owned by Wayne Robinson of American Bark. Two attendants chosen Saturday evening were Miss June Boron of Bantaypin and Miss Poy Bardman of Cedar Fort. Second Broadcast From Stake Mission Slated Sunday

Willam C. Smith, district president in Timpanogos Stake, will discuss the Philosophy of Life of the Latter-day Saints on KCSU at 5 15 Sunday evening.
