Golden Knights to Perform at Strawberry Days
The United States Army Parachute Team the Golden Knights will demonstrate free fall and precision parachuting at Strawberry Days on Saturday July 17 at 1 p.m. The event occurs south of the rodeo grounds as part of the three day celebration with parades and a teenage dance the preceding evening.

Karl Banks 83 lifelong educator writer and poet died Tuesday May 30 1972 at American Park Hospital He was born January 17 1889 in London to Franklin Cyrus Banks and Eli 720 Crossland Banks He married Lela Rennow in Pioche Nevada April 11 1918 and the marriage was solemnized at the Salt Lake Temple June 15 1918 Services will be at Pleasant Grove Stake House Friday at 11 AM with a Thursday viewing 7 to 9 PM at Olpin Family Mortuary and 10 to 11 AM prior to service Burial in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery A swimming clinic will be held at the Veterans Memorial Pool in Pleasant Grove today June 1 at 5 PM with BYU Dolphins demonstrations for interested children and parents.

Two Pleasant Grove Boys Drowned in Canal
Utah County searchers recovered 6 year old Todd Peterson from the Murdock Canal near Pleasant Grove while the search for his 8 year old cousin Gregg Peterson continued at 5 p m. Todd was found with his swimsuit snagged on cement after a multi day search begun Monday.

A J Rogers Scholarship Fund Reaches 10 000 Goal
The A J Rogers Scholarship Fund reached its 10 000 goal as Hannah Hill notes. Principal Gourley accepted the donation from PTSA plus 6 500 original gift from Kenneth H Rogers. PTSA activities added 879.85 and foregone scholarships brought the total closer to the target. The fund will now support an annual BYU scholarship for a PGHS graduate student.
