Statewide Strawberry Day Festival Opens In June
The entire state invited to Strawberry Day in Grove 8 on June 11. Utah County beauties compete for the Strawberry Queen while eight bands and a parade of 100 floats highlight the celebration. The event, first held in 1921 by the Chamber of Commerce to boost local strawberries, features berry packing, radio programs, theater events, and community gatherings across Pleasant Grove and Provo Beach.

Fred Snow of Mills Injured in Accident Near P G
A thrilling automobile accident occurred near Joseph Larson's home Thursday afternoon when Fred Snow of Mills and George Nielson of this city overturned a Studebaker coupe owned by the Snow boy's uncle. The car slid fifty feet on its top. Snow was rushed to Provo hospital with injuries of unknown extent. Nielson escaped with slight scratches. The car was completely demolished.

Pleasant Grove Man Injured After Train Collision
B. J. Merck, 46, narrowly escaped death Friday May 24 when his car was struck by a southbound Denver and Rio Grande Western train at Fourth West and Second South streets Salt Lake. He misunderstood signals and stopped on the track. Merck suffered head cuts contusions and body bruises as his car was wrecked.

Farm Bureau Baseball League Sets Two-Group Schedule
