Canning Plant Completes Pack Of 35 000 Cases
Pleasant Grove Canning Company reports completion of 35 000 cases of peas at the Provo plant under Utah Valley and Pleasant Grove brands. H W Jacobs, manager, notes a short pea crop due to hot weather and June doldrums, with peas processed from north Utah County using eight internal stations in Provo and others in London, American Fork, Manila and Highland. Plants were overhauled to first class condition with new machinery, and preparations for a tomato campaign starting about August 15, plus handling peaches beans and other produce continue.

Twenty Children Learn To Float At Swim Class
Pleasant Grove recreation department ran a Saratoga resort swim class last Saturday with 74 participants. Supervisors Harold B Walker and Laura Banner led instruction with Bob Eastmond and others. A second trip is planned for Saturday at 2 PM with transport for a small fee. Other activities announced include dance classes, a story hour, croquet finals, tennis each evening, softball games, and an Old Men's game next Tuesday night.

Last Rites For Elderly Resident Scheduled Today
Mrs Hanna Marie Sundbergs funeral services are held at the Second Ward chapel in Pleasant Grove. She died Tuesday at her daughter's home, aged 80. Born August 1 1865 in Sweden, she emigrated with her family to Utah in 1871 and married Andrew P Sundberg in Salt Lake Endowment House in 1882. Survived by four sons, two daughters, 34 grandchildren and more. Burial in Pleasant Grove cemetery after calling at Stella Hardman’s home.

Postmaster Car Stolen and Stripped in Provo
The 1939 Chevrolet belonging to Postmaster PD Atwood was stolen and found stripped of tires radio lights and other accessories at Tenth West and Seventh South in Provo. Police traced the theft to Monday after a search began, noting the car had been to a Provo barage for repairs. Loss is estimated at 230 dollars with partial insurance coverage.
