Funeral services for William Dev , who died July 4 , were held at Pleasant Grove Third United Thursday July ath . Reverend Atwood directed the rites with Nie at the bishopric cen . A duet by Wardman and Viola and several offerings followed. Attendees included Newman, Richard Wadley, Atwood, and others. The interment was at Talent Grove City cemetery. Counselor W W Iistttt oversaw the burial arrangements.

Mrs Awe Holwan received word of the death of her grandson Jerroy Wola of McGill Nevada who was killed while working. Leroy Holman aged about 45 to 35 is reported as the son of George K. and Alice Thyrenten Hal mar. Funeral arrangements and burial in Pleasant Grove City cemetery are planned.
Isaac Carlson aged 8 died suddenly Monday night from a heart attack suffered at 8 30 pm at 8100. His wife Mary Alderson Carlson died one year earlier on July 13. Carlson was active in church and city affairs, led church missions in Sweden in 1896 1897, and served as Sun day School teacher and M M L A leader. He was born March 9 1856 in Skorby Sweden and moved to Utah in 1872 at age 16. He married Mary Anderson on October 4 1877 and lived in Pleasant Grove. Surviving children include Isaac E Carlson Mary A Jacobs Effie Aston Alvin Hyrum Ray and many grandchildren and a brother Jacob Carlson.
Funeral services for Thomas L Jarman were held in Windsor ward on Thursday July 8 at 2 00 p m conducted by war bishopric Elwood Baxter. A duet opening the service was sung by Lynn Gordon and Eva Marriott followed by prayers and several musical numbers. Speakers included J W Gillman A H Lowe Edmund Cragan and Bishop Stanley Harris with interment at Pleasant Grove cemetery.

The city firemen meet every second Monday evening and attend to business matters pertaining to their duties. Miss Mary Jense is visiting relatives in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Peterson visited with Mr. and Mrs. Martin Feterson. Mir and Mrs. John Hatch and Mr. and Mrs. Williams Richins of Tropie were en route to Ogden to visit a daughter ill at Dee hospital. Marie K Nielsen and daughter Etta of Salt Lake City and Mrs. J. Ford of Cottonwood were Pleasant Grove visitors. Etta Nielsen will receive her masters degree at the U of A and teach at West High next winter. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Deveraux and Bertha Deveraux and Mr. and Mrs. Seth Phillips left for Idaho Falls upon word of the accidental death of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Radmall. Radmall was son of John Radmall and the late Jennie Deveraux Radmall, formerly of Pleasant Grove. Howard Nelson and Mrs. Nelson, on vacation from Coon Chicken Inn, toured Yellowstone and Jackson Hole. They will join James A. Nelson and Rolland Carlisle of Heber for a trip to Bryce, Zion’s and Grand canyons in Southern Utah.
Samuel Burns of the Second ward died at home in Pleasant Grove on Wednesday. He was born November 30, 1881, the son of Eilian Burns and Mary Ann Abel. He married Agnes Baxter at Pleasant Grove on September 1, 000. They had two sons Clyde Burns and LaVert Burns and daughters Mrs Hywath B. Hos tors, Margaret, Marie and Mary Burns of Pleasant Grove. Surviving also are one grandson and three brothers Elijah Burns of Canada Alma Provo and Leonard of San Francisco, and sister Mrs Abner Chipman of American Fork. Funeral services were held Sunday at 4:00 pm at the Stake Tabernacle with Bishop Burton Adams in charge and H E Robertson conducting. Mrs Stella Hardman and Mrs Viola Beers sang Sometime We'll Understand at a family request, with Mary Humphries at the piano. Prayer by Thomas Gleason, Mildred Chipman of American Fork sang a solo accompanied by Maxine Taylor and K J Bird on violins, with Lois Greenwood on piano. Speakers included Bishop Frank D Atwood, Clifford L Wright, H Winfield Clark, Bishop Adams and closing remarks by H E Robertson. A violin solo, A Perfect Day, by Milton Brown accompanied by Mary Humphries interspersed the program. The closing duet was Stella Hardman and Viola Beers One Fleeting Hour. George Abel offered the closing prayer. The grave at the city cemetery was dedicated by Elwood Baxter, a nephew.
The family of Joseph W Smith will hold their annual reunion at Mutual Dell in American Folk canyon on Sunday, August 1. George Larsen of Ogden is president, Miss Helen Smith is vice president, and Jean Smith serves as secretary of the organization.

David S. Walker, after two and a half years on the island mission, will be released July 26 and spend ten days in the Hawaiian Islands before sailing to Tomé. His parents Mr and Mrs J Lane ford Walker plan to meet him in San Francisco on August 10.
