Plans Nearing Completion For Tri Stake Convention

Plans for a Tri Stake Pioneer Day Centennial and Re union progress, with events set July 23 and 24. Activities include baseball, tug of war, relays, a concert by Pleasant Grove band, MIA performers, fireworks, and a Latona dance. Free admission except food, aims to reconnect Cedar Valley families and Alpine stake residents.

Family Hosts Visitation for Warnick Relatives at Taylor Home

The family of the late Fred and Olivia Warnick Taylor entertained Wednesday evening at the Home of Mr and Mrs Play Taylor at the old Foutz home with Mrs Leone Carson of Fairfield as guest co host. The pleasant affair honored Don and Grace Foutz Boulter and Don Jr with a chicken dinner followed by pictures colored slides and informal visiting.

Mothers Club Hosts Annual Canyon Party at Mill Creek

The Mothers Club and their husbands held their annual canyon party late Thursday afternoon at Mill Creek in Am Fork canyon. A bonfire glow, picnic and informal musical program delighted attendees with performances by L A Clark, Irwin Jensen, Karl Banks and Robert Jacques.

Pleasant Grove Native Ada Bush Dies in Idaho Funeral Held

Ada Bush, native of Pleasant Grove, died in Rigby Idaho last week. She was born October 39 1875 to Frederick and Margaret A Thorne Armit stead. She lived in Pleasant Grove before moving to Rigby in 1908. She left eight children seven with their father James Bush Los Angeles Grace Hardley Clifford Bush Dale Bush all Rigby Frederick Bush Hill Field Pearl Jones Birte LaVerne Weight Saint Anthony. Survived by two brothers Elvin Thorne Pleasant Grove Fred Thorne Provo and sister Margaret Dudson Rigby. Funeral attended by Alvin Thorne Miss Arlene Slater and Fred Thorne of Provo.

Adamson Hosts Cadmus Club Evening Program

An evening at Winnifred Adamson's home featured Cadmus Club members and guests. Present were Winona Kirk, May Morgan, Diane Ohme, Sigrid Setinal, Rachel and Darlene Adamson, with Geneve Dalton in charge. A German guest, Sigrid Schaaf, spoke about 4 H plans in her homeland as part of a purpose to start a similar program in Germany. Doris Rogers reported on the last UNESCO meeting and a panel on international youth. The program highlighted American poets Edna St Vincent Millay and Eliza R Snow, with selections from Carrie Jacobs Bond songs. Refreshments followed. meeting adjourned after a brief social period.

Marvin Johnson Funeral Rites Held Saturday

Relatives and friends gathered Saturday afternoon at the Third ward chapel to pay final tribute to Marvin L. John koh. Bishop Calvin Walker directed services at 2 p.m. Invocat ion by Byron Fugal. Speakers Neils Fugal Pred Scholes and Joseph S. Walker offered tribute. Musical numbers included vocal duets by Mrs. B. W. Hilton and Binond Allen, and Ansel West with Mary Neves. Closing remarks by Bishop Walker. Benediction by Daryl Huish. Interment at Pl Groves City cemetery with dedicatory prayer by Neils Pugal. Alaskan Family Group Visits Central Community

Mr and Mrs Don W Boulter and children Don and Virginia of Sutton Alaska spend a week with Mrs E R Allen and family and other relatives. They traveled 4300 miles via the Alcan Highway visiting C W Hales and J W Corrigan families. Afterward they plan to meet Elmer Foutz and family in Wyoming and spend time at a summer lodge before returning to homestead 160 acres near their Alaska home where Mr Boulter works as a mechanic at the mines two miles away.
