Lions Club Plans Annual Community Fair

The Pleasant Grove Lions Club, at a Wednesday meeting at Vernals Cafe, outlines plans for the September 10 Community Fair and Birthday Celebration now in its eighth year. General chairman William C. Young Republicans to Organize Tonight at Pleasant Grove

Mrs J Theohaltd of Satt Late City aid Mr and Mrs Georgy Ne fon of Sandy visited Thursday as guests of Mrs Ada Richardy county Democratic chairman Frick Newnan Mine Newman Thursday evening at 1 M via Rio Grande railway to Philadelphia for the Democratic National fan. The Neywrare will go to Washington DC on Uhfur Way to the convention and then to New York, with a Chicago stop on the way home. Newman is one of Trs delegates to the convention.

William Hinton was elected Commander of Pleasant Grove American Legion Post 70 at a City Hall meeting on Friday July 2. Officers elected include Rex Gourley as First Vice Commander William J. Former P. G. Woman Dies In Ogden

Lucinda Jane Harvey Herron 91 died at her daughter's Ogden home after a lingering illness. Born June 17, 1857 in Pleasant Grove, she was active in Relief Society and Sunday school. Survived by seven sons and daughters, 25 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. funeral Thursday at 2:30 PM at Pleasant Grove First Ward chapel.

A reorganization meeting of the Pleasant Grove precinct is set for Monday July 12 at 8 pm in Pleasant Grove City Hall. Attorney Don Mack Dalton precinct chairman Phil Christensen of Provo Utah County Republican Chairman will attend to assist in the precinct committee reorganization. Sunset Services Bring Out Large Crowd Last Sunday

A July Sunday evening gathering drew a large audience for Sunset Services at 7:30 with Yue Pleasant Ave Band performing a patriotic concert. Colors were presented at 8, Richard Paulson gave the invocation, Frank Newmar spoke on History of Our Freedom, and Harry Clark sang. Clare invited audience singing, followed by George Ballif, Provo attorney, delivering an inspirational talk. Mr. Clark closed with another song and Jane Brown offered the benediction.

The Veteran's of Foreign Wars Battle Creek Post No 7561 sponsored an outstanding flag display for the citys birthday.
