In Pleasant Grove City Court June docket 24 cases, 12 involved speeding. Other traffic items include two running stop signs, two drunk driving, one failure to control, one saney during suspended license, and one public intoxication. Five cases were dismissed. total fines and forfeitures reached $360. Readouts show wide police activity and assorted incidents around town.
Alpine School District clarifies that school buildings are open to the public for recreation and moral training but not for private enterprises seeking personal gain. Requests when schools are not in session go through the principal to the Board, with nominal rental fees to defray expenses. Civic and religious groups may use buildings upon contact with the principal.
Visiting from Baron California Mr. and Mrs. Job and their five children stay with Mrs. Job's sister and brother in law Mr. and Mrs. Bill Robinson and relatives in Orem and Lehi. The trip includes canyon parties and gatherings. Notable events in Lehi were blessing and naming of the younger child and the baptisms of Bobby and Jolene.
Mr. and Mrs. Harris Chipman and their young daughter Gina spent two days last week attending the rodeo in Idaho Falls and traveling to other nearby points of interest.

Choirs performed Battle Hymn, America the Beautiful, and Stout Hearted Men, with Bugler Larry Hants adding a military touch.
The Puyallup area council discussed growing dog issues in Pleasant Grove including unpaid 1960 dog taxes, unlicensed dogs, and many leashed violations. Mayor Burton Adams and councilmembers heard a financial report on dog department receipts and expenses for 1960 and directed enforcement steps.
Lt. Commander Kay L. Jacobs of the Naval Electronics Facility at Provo retires home July 2 after a June 18 to July 1 cruise at Preadure Island San Francisco. The 40 officers completed instruction in personnel administration and organization during a Naval Administrative Cruise for 12th Naval District commanding officers. Jacobs notes a new Provo facility soon to be constructed to support Army entry. He urges eligible youths with military obligations and electronics interest to contact him or the Naval Reserve Facility keeper at 11400 South University Avenue Provo Utah.
A. H. Belliston of Nephi was celebrated by 55 descendants in a garden birthday gathering at the Gerald Belliston home on Wednesday June 28. Family dinner featured a pink and gold decorated serving table and a large birthday cake. Attendees included Harold Belliston Leland Belliston Dean and Jack Heath Nek Worthington and husband Geen Angus Balliston and many grandchildren and great grandchildren from Salt Lake City Bountiful Payson Nephi Provo and Pleasant Grove.
Mrs Buelah Gillman, patient at American Fork hospital, suffered severe burns last week while attempting to burn brush with gasoline. Her clothing ignited but a rug wrapped around her body stopped the flames. she summoned help alone and is progressing as well as can be expected.
Aric of Ogden spent July 1 through 4 at the home of Mrs Kate Jacobs the mother of Mrs August Weichman. They visited friends in Pleasant Grove and on July 4 were guests of Mr and Mrs Ronald Price of Lehi.
The Alpine School District Board adopts the 1960 1961 budget prepared by the superintendent. Major disbursements include Administration 67000 Education 2237000 and Capital Outlay 825000 with revenue from Utah County taxes 2875000 and State Uniform Funds 2500 400. Bids were opened with insurance by several companies. award determined by lot.
Mr and Mrs Raymond Nelson will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary Sunday July 10 1960 with an open house for family and friends at 395 South Main Pleasant Grove from 3 to 7 pm They request no gifts Raymond born August 30 1888 in Pleasant Grove has lived here all his life He is a carpenter in the area for 55 years and a longtime volunteer fireman Ann born January 1 1890 in Denmark came to Utah at age seven and the couple married in the Salt Lake Temple on July 12 1910 They have three children Howant in Prevo Keith in Pleasant Grove and Dorothy Ann Briley in Bountiful plus 13 grandchildren
Sunrise service at 7am July 10 at the amphitheatre of American Fork Training School unites 4-H clubs from American Fork Liah Pleasant Grove and Cedar Valley. Elder A Theodore Tubtle of Seven ty will speak as 4-H members lead singing pledge and club pledges. Committee chairs Lorena Warnick Harriet Mulliner and Klea Eynst arrange ushering music and seating. parents and friends are invited.
Mrs Ralph Wigginton went to aid a sick child during the night and slipped down stairs. Doctors report broken vertebrae and possible additional fractures. She was taken to Utah Valley Hospital for treatment.
Major Jack S. Pace of the Utah National Guard travels to the Presidio San Francisco for a two week advanced training program. Pace is accompanied by plans for his wife and four children to visit relatives in Los Altos before returning by train and car.
A new Historical Trail Map of Utah by the Utah Tourism and Publicity Council showcases trails and topographic relief from the Racalante Dominewer Expedition of 1776 to the Hole in the Rock trek of 1870. Dale Morgan wrote the descriptive text. the map features 20 trails in color with detailed captions and is aimed at statewide distribution.
Mrs Boyd Anderson and gon Len and Bob Harmer drove to Price to take Rachel Anderson and friend Weldis Lendl of Buffalo to join a trip east. They will visit Denver Dallas New Orleans Washington New York Boston and end in Buffalo with two weeks as house guests.
