Pleasant Grove swimmers triumph in league meets
Pleasant Grove swimmers posted a 40 record after victories over American Fork and Payson. In American Fork, PG led 7 to 66 with a strong showing at the pool last Friday. The Payson meet at Pleasant Grove ended 548 to 171 in PG favor. PG has beaten Price and Provo in earlier meets and awaits Riverside and Spanish Fork, plus a rescheduled Orem clash set for July 15. Blue ribbon winners include Nancy Gardner, Lori Weston, Paula and Pam Davis in girls events, and Bob Seely, Kurt Christeson, Mark Crump, Bret Jenkins in boys events. Individual winners span ages 8 to 17 with multiple relays praised.

Norman E Wright Named Sixth Ward Counselor
Norman E Wright was sustained as second counselor to Bishop Cloyd Christiansen in the LDS Sixth Ward. He was born in South Salt Lake City and educated in Granite District Schools, earning a BYU Bachelors and an Utah State University Masters in economics. Wright has served in the US Army, completed a New Zealand LDS mission, and taught Genealogical Research at BYU for six years. He married Carolyn Bevan of Tooele. they have eight children.

Parcel Post Weight Limit Raised for Shipments
Parcel post weight limits were boosted to 40 pounds for most shipments effective July 1, with larger post offices remaining at 30 pounds for zones three through eight. Local and zone one and two offices keep 40 pounds. overall size limits stay 72 inches for first class routes, 100 inches for rural or smaller offices. Future increases to 78 and 84 inches are planned for July 1, 1969 and 1971.

Zone 22 Golf Tourney Set In Orem July 5 19
The annual Zone 22 Golf Tournament runs July 5 to 19 at Cascade Course in Orem. An 18 hole qualifying round must be finished by July 16, with final 18 holes played July 19.
