FBLA Week Proclaimed in Pleasant Grove for February 9 13

Mayor W Cornell Haynie signed a proclamation naming February 9 13 as National Future Business Leaders of America Week in Pleasant Grove. The event at the Jrisheon at the Bungalow featured Tina Jackson and officers presenting FBLA goals and plans. Attendees included State FBLA Advisor Deanna Page and other officials who urged members to set good examples and share expertise. Public hearings on the sewer proposal are planned again before spring bond elections.

Lindon Council Reviews Street Signs and Permits

Library Receives Three Books in Honor of Hardman

The Pleasant Grove Library was gifted three books by the Jack Barker family of Bellaire Texas in memory of Tate Harold J Hardman. The volumes include The Official Encyclopedia of Sports by Pratt and Benagh Science Dictionary of the Plant World by Michael Chinery and Science Pictorial of the Animal World by Michael Chinery. Mr Barker and Mrs Harold J Hardman expressed hope residents will use the books and show appreciation for the gift.

March of Dimes to feature Skataram TV event in Utah

The March of Dimes will include Skatarama with its Telerama fundraiser in Utah County. Skating at The Rollerskate in Provo noon to midnight and at Park Re She in Springville 4 PM to midnight. A $50,000 state goal was set, with sponsor sheets available at local rinks and the March of Dimes office. Each skater earns raffle tickets for pledges, prizes include a Hawaiian vacation and 10 speed bikes, and questions can be directed to Madonna Nielson, TAPS representative.

American Party Elects New County Chairman

Dean L. Robinson of Provo was elected chairman of Utah County American Party by the Central Committee on Thursday in Provo. He succeeds Larry Lilly who resigned for personal reasons. Robinson plans a Saturday meeting to reorganize and appoint new committee heads. Other officers include Sandra Hunt vice chairwoman Delmar Reay treasurer and Douglas Ackroyd secretary.

Ned Winder to Speak Feb 7 at C of C Banquet

Hall Allen president of the local Chamber of Commerce announced Ned Winder of Salt Lake City will be the speaker at the annual banquet. The event on Saturday Feb 7 at 7 p.m. will be held in the high school cafeteria. Tickets available from local officials and merchants.

Planning Meeting Held Jan 22 By Commission

Planning Commission met January 22 with Councilman Jack West outlining 1976 goals. Duties include subdivision procedures and adherence to ordinances. Subdivision applicants must submit business tier to city by noon Thursday two weeks before the public meeting. The monthly Public Meeting is the first Thursday at 7 30 p.m. January 1974 saw two permits. 1975 had 15. 1976 shows 23 with potential 6 to 8 more. Regulations from Pleasant Grove Irrigation Co will be issued with permits as approved. A letter from Utah County Council of Government was received and cooperation on school properties will continue. Next meeting is February 5 with public hearings on printed notices in the Review.

Bus transportation to Sundance Ski Resort will run on Saturdays starting January 31 with trips on January 31 February 14 and February 28.
