An adult evening class on Increased Pork Production will begin at Pleasant Grove High School for six weeks. Instructors led by Joe Day plan two sessions weekly with Monday February 1 at 7 30 PM as the first class. Attendance expected from local adults and out of school youth to share pork production practices for wartime needs.
Mothers of preschoolers met at Central School to plan a play school for the remainder of the year with registration and tuition to be paid next Monday February 1. A special 2:30 PM lunch sample invitation was extended. Mr Merrill extends invite. A marriage notice for David Walker’s daughter to Alonzo Hooley describes a Salt Lake Temple ceremony on January 20 with reception details and wedding party assignments.
Miss Betha Storrs hosted a Pleasant Grove Central School faculty dinner at her American Park home last Wednesday. Guests included Principal and Mrs. Ray Morrill and other staff. Miss Jennie Gleason won high score after dinner games.
In a Third Ward Sunday Eve gathering two local youths entering service were honored. Boyd Fuga left for St. Marys College California two weeks ago and Jesse Monson M S Christiansen offered readings. Ensign Bardell Monson Navy on leave from Florida and Technical Sergeant Fred Atwood stationed in Tennessee spoke. Special music by Winona Monson Ramona Monson and Mary Neves. The blessing and naming of twin daughters Martha and Mary was noted with the soldier father assisting. Elder Tiane Jacob spoke.
Funeral services for Isaac J Wadley were held Friday at Ward Chapel with Bishop Junius A West in charge. Musical tributes and a biographical sketch followed as family members offered memories from the Wadley ranch days in Manila. Major J G Rollins, recently promoted, was named to attend a four week administrative school in Denver before returning to Grugers Meld.
Private Owen Green of Camp Kohler California is enjoying a furlough with his wife in American Fork and with other relatives in Pleasant Grove.
Rand and Beth Stephens celebrate the arrival of their 12th child on January 21 at LT and H Hospital. Grandparents Mr and Mrs Thomas Venton noted as the baby's paternal side.
Relatives and friends have been advised that Vernon R. Radmall has been promoted to Staff Sergeant. He entered service in early summer 1942 and is the son of Nephi and Louise Radmall. He is stationed at Boca Raton Field Florida.
The Parent Teachers Association announces identification number distribution for Pleasant Grove children at Central School for grade school on Feb 8. High School students at Pleasant Grove High School on Feb 4. Preschool children at City Hall on Feb 6.
Mr and Mrs George McMilllen hosted a June 21 reception for newlyweds Mr and Mrs Bill Harris, married January 20 at the Salt Lake L D S Temple. The Second Ward hall featured ferns and Christmas cactus. families and bridal party attended with music, toasts, and refreshments.

Hyrum Heiselt era resort operator of Provo canyon dies Tuesday at home age 80. Born July 8 1865 in Pleasant Grove he served as city marshal and operated Heiselt resort. Surviving wife Madalena two daughters nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral Saturday at 2 PM Third Ward Chapel with viewing 45 minutes prior.
Mrs. Anna Johnson, an honored pioneer, celebrated her 84th birthday on Sunday. Luncheon guests included Mrs. Minnie Anderson, Mrs. Christine Stogall, Mrs. Mary Olson, and Mrs. Josephine Monson. On Monday afternoon, several neighbors called to extend felicitations to Mrs. Jahison.
For the convenience of those required to file Federal Income Tax Returns Deputy Collector of Internal Revenue will be at the Pleasant Grove City Halls on Wednesday February 00 to assist taxpayers in preparing their return. No charge will be made for this service.
