Pleasant Grove Chamber elects new directors at annual meeting

Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting to elect six new directors for two years and two for one year. Principal Karl Banks presided while Lion President G Anderson spoke on collaboration with the Lions Club. Harold Wootten gave the welcome address as round-table discussions followed and a luncheon was served by the Pleasant Grove High School economics department led by Mr Iva Carlo.

Mrs Kopp Biographie of a German LDS convert in Manila obituary

Mrs Caroline Kopp an early German immigrant and LDS convert whose life spanned Saarbrucken Salt Lake City Draper Payson Pleasant Grove Manila and Manila farm life. She joined the Church in 1903 and after years of faith and support alongside her husband Philip Kopp they settled in Manila where they built a livelihood from a small five acre farm. Surviving are her husband and three daughters a son and three grandsons.

Uncle Ez Walker to Celebrate Eightieth Birthday

Ezra F. Walker known as Uncle Ez in Pleasant Grove and Lindon will mark his eightieth birthday with a family gathering at his daughter Mrs. George Lovell’s Lindon home. Born 1859 in Pleasant Grove, he recalls pioneer days, has spoken at Daughters of Utah Pioneers events, Old Folks parties, and Pioneer gatherings, and remains active as a stake missionary. He married twice, has four children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and enjoys hunting and fishing as hobbies.

Ward Law Committee Names Dalton Chair in Manila Ward

D. Mack Dalton was named chairman of the Law Enforcement committee of the Manila ward at the Sunday meeting. Members include Mrs. Inez Eves and I. M. Abwood and Mrs. Merrill N. Warnick, with Dalton representing the M. I. A. The committee aims to strengthen law enforcement and reduce liquor and tobacco use among youths.

Pleasant Grove and Lindon residents hosted and attended diverse events this week. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Merrill N. Last Rites For Mrs Prestwich Slated Friday

Funeral services for Myrtle Mabel Prestwich of Orem were held Friday at 1 p.m. in Windsor ward chapel with interment in American Fork city cemetery. She died after a major operation and leaves husband William M Prestwich and seven children along with a large family in American Fork Salt Lake City and other locations.
