Police Report Shows Wrongdoers Active in Pleasant Grove

Police note a busy period from December 31 with 28 incidents including 16 arrests of juveniles for DUI runaways theft and vandalism and 12 arrests of adults for public intoxication. Noted copper wire thefts valued at $38,000 across Utah with 1 million feet stolen, some by claimants posing as Mountain Bell workers. Volunteers from the Linden Pleasant Grove Manila area will contact homes this week to raise about 7000 dollars for a new city ambulance. Workers include Elysium Club Auxiliary Police Chamber of Commerce directors Londen City officials and other citizens. Three Utah Cities Win Community Progress Awards

Pleasant Grove American Fork and Lehi received Utah Community Progress awards for 1972 74 with first place overall progress and a $500 $400 prize for the top towns. They share a $1000 prize for inter governmental cooperation and will enter the 1974 76 project.

Pleasant Grove dominates Lehi in Region VI wrestling

Pleasant Grove routed Lehi 47-5 in a Region VI wrestling meet last Thursday. The Vikings seized early control with three pins and two major decisions, opening 26-0 before 134 lb Philip Carroll drew 2-2 after an illegal move cost him a point. Craig Nelson suffered an injury in the second period, while Clyde Huntsman and Scott Rroundabush padded PG’s lead with pins and a 1:49 pin in heavyweight. Lehi coach questioned officials as PG extended its Region record and kept undefeated in-region wrestlers.
