Bank of P. G. 1948 capital gains reported

Officers and directors of the Bank of Pleasant Grove were elected at the annual stockholders meeting held last Tuesday. The 1948 report shows capital stock rising from 25000 to 50000 and surplus from 80000 to 90000 with assets ending 1948 at 2,245,826.61. 120 steel safety deposit boxes were installed. Col. Cobbley is president and Junius A West is vice president and cashier.

P. G. Wild Life Federation To Conduct A Membership Drive

The P G Wild Life Federation plans a membership drive as it seeks 200 members. A Wednesday meeting at city hall chaired by George L. Smith and Willard Freeman discussed a $1.00 annual fee and using funds to cover current expenses and deer and game bird food needs. About 34 members attended.

Adult Education Classes in P G Outlined By Supervisor

Courses include sewing at High School, home decoration, upholstery, and advanced sewing with instructors from local schools and organizations. Raymond Homer to enter Mission Home for 210 days

Raymond Homer will enter the LDS Mission Home in Salt Lake City on Monday January 24 for 210 day training before departing for the Central States LDS mission field to serve his church. The Grove ward held a farewell on January 2 with remarks by his grandfather W. F. Brandon and Bishop H. S. Walker, as Alene Rasmussen sang. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Homer and will serve in the same mission field his father served in 28 years ago, with headquarters at Independence Missouri. He attended BYU missionary course in fall quarter.

Elisha T Mayhew Funeral Observed In Lindon

Relatives and friends gathered Thursday at the First Ward LDS chapel to honor Elisha T Mayhew lifelong resident of the community. The service was directed by Bishop Alroy Gillean with music by local singers and prayers offered by church leaders. Interment followed in Pleasant Grove cemetery. Numerous out of town relatives attended, including Mayhew family members from California and Utah communities.

Timpanogos Stake Conference Set For Sunday

The quarterly Timpanogos Stake Conference is scheduled for Sunday January 23 at the First Ward Chapel with Apostle Henry D Moyle representing. Lindon PTA will meet at 7:80 pm in the Lindon school Lan don building to view a safety film titled A Glimpse on Safety presented by a Geneva Steel representative. Thirteen new members were inducted at Pleasant Grove Lions Club during a Wednesday meeting held on Ladies Night.
