Pleasant Grove new junior high will be dedicated in the auditorium at 7 30 p m with a program by the chorus and band. Alpine School District officials including Superintendent Dan Peterson will attend. County hearing on the 1976 Zoning Ordinance amendments set for January 31 1977 at 2 p m in Room 310 County Building Provo.

Open House Honoring Jessie Wadley in Pleasant Grove

An open house will be held Saturday January 22 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Hal and Lucy Haycock home 1575 North 6th West Pleasant Grove honoring Jessie R Wadley on her 90th birthday. Wadley born January 29 18ST in Springville daughter of Alexander and Lucy Robertson. She taught at Manila School and Utah State Training School, active in Manila Ward and served as a mission worker.

Pleasant Grove High School joins Utah FRIENDS Board

Holly Walker representing PGHS joins the nine chosen Utah students to form the Utah FRIENDS Board a youth policy group aiding schools in implementing the program. They plan presentations to northern districts late December and a May statewide convention to elect officers.

Lonnie Edwin Wilson son of Clarence M Wilson Jr is called to the Washington DC Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. He enters the mission home February 3 1977 with a farewell set January 30 1977 at 1 pm in Pleasant Grove Stake House. Wilson is an Eagle Scout former Deacons Priests and Teachers quorum president and APMIA director now a Sunday School teacher and Duty to God award recipient.

Warren R. Hayden Promoted to Lt Col in Air Force

Warren Ray Hayden was promoted to lieutenant colonel in the Air Force as part of the final promotion list approved by Congress before adjournment. He serves at Edwards Air Force Base California as Chief of the Strategic Systems Section and is due to assume the rank on Christmas 1976.

The council debated locating a FM radio antenna and studio near 200 South 1400 East and heard residents concerns. Mayor Haynie opposed hosting the studio in Pleasant Grove with the antenna elsewhere, and the panel approved a special use permit with conditions including city studio, 50 foot antenna, residential landscaping, and non commercial use.
