Farmers Union to Hear Lecture on Radiation Effects

Utah County Farmers Union sponsors a film showing on January 23 at 7 30 p m in the Utah Power and Light Building American Fork Park. Clair Acord Utah County Agricultural Agent will present films and explanations with J Earl Smith noting a State Legislature member will discuss current farmer related bills.

High School Boys Attend Lecture At Brigham Young

Pleasant Grove High School students Grant Richards Len Anderson Mac Pugal Lester Draper Lynn Halliday Glen Warnick and Ronald Blackhurst attended a lecture on milking and mastitis at Brighton Young University. The session aimed to help farmers combat mastitis and reduce disease rates in local cow herds. The boys gained valuable knowledge from the event.

City Names Work Foreman at Special Meeting

Wallace Whatturn of West Fourth North was named work foreman for Pheasant Grove City. Mayor Burton E. Adams announced Washburn will oversee city projects, scheduling and personnel, after a special meeting. Washburn’s background includes U S Forest Service service and Utah Construction Co. He is a Monroe, Utah native, married in 1936 to Mavis Blood, with four children.

At a Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce Industrial Development Committee meeting last Thursday evening committees were organized. A report will be given next Thursday evening January 26. Committees include Site Development and Transportation, Power and Water, Taxes, Labor and Special Facilities, and Legislative and Publicity. Quarter Horse Stallion Sells at Denver Sale

Linebaugh of Salt Lake City and Harvey Linebaugh of Pleasant Grove with Dwight Terwilliger and Shields of Kansas bought the four year old stallion Tonto Bars for 10000 at the Western Stock Show sale in Denver. George L Smith and son Harvey joined the venture with Mr Linebaugh. Gene Fulmer of West Jordan bought two quarter horses for 2600 and 1025 for Exabar and Gypsy Creek.

Pre School Clinic to Feature BYU Educator Speech

The second pre school clinic will be held January 23 at 7 30 pm in Central School room 15. Mrs Lucille Jensen of BYU Human Development and Family Relations will speak on a subject of interest to all. PTA officials praised the first class held Monday night and invite all parents of pre school children to attend.

Skousen to Speak on Communism Next Wednesday

Briefhand Class Scheduled by Adult Education

The Alpine School District hosts a Wednesday evening Briefhand class starting March 26 from 7 to 10 pm at Pleasant Grove Junior High. The 12 week course, taught by Alber Bailey, teaches ABC shorthand enabling 80 to 100 words per minute after 36 hours of instruction.
