Alpine School District Offers On The Farm Training Program

The Alpine School District lists an On The Farm Training program for veterans under V A and state education rules. Courses run at Lincoln High School and other sites through March with sessions on pruning, fertilizers, orchard care, dairy and greenhouse practices. An invitation urges interested adults to attend as the program aims to assist veteran trainees and others with practical agricultural instruction.

The annual meeting of stockholders of Bank of Pleasant Grove was held at the bank office on Tuesday January 14 1947. Stake Quarterly Conference Dates Set for January

Stake quarterly conference will be held Saturday evening and Sunday January 25 and 26. Sessions are scheduled at the First Ward Chapel for general sessions, the Third Ward Chapel for Priesthood Leadership, and the Second Ward Chapel for Mothers and Daughters events.

Mr. and Mrs. E Ray Brown hosted relatives and friends at a Wednesday reception for Ruth and Cloud Christianson who wed earlier that day in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Curtis Green Dies Sunday In Salt Lake Hospital

Curtis Charles Green Jr a Pleasant Grove native died Sunday at a Salt Lake hospital from a cerebral hemorrhage He was born March 21 1892 to Charles Edward and Harriet Ann Aston Green He worked 32 years as a conductor for the Salt Lake and Utah Railroad and later for the Salt Lake and Garfield Railroad He married Vera Ballinger on July 5 1911 and is survived by sons Curtis McClure Green Pioche Nevada Frendell J Green Los Angeles and Carol Louise Green Salt Lake City plus four brothers and sisters The service was held Wednesday at 1 PM at 06 East Salt Lake Burial followed at Pleasant Grove Cemetery The next meeting at the Jayne Genis Voll was scheduled for January 22 with the Halse family in attendance

Former P. G. Lady Dies In Ogden

LeRene Cooper aged 51 died Wednesday at 10 35 AM in her Ogden home after a two month illness. Born January 3 1896 in Sandy she was daughter of Albert B E and Mary J Lewis Cooper. She taught at the State school for the deaf and blind in Pleasant Grove since 1920. Funeral services Saturday at 11 AM at Land Quist Sons Mortuary with burial in the nearby cemetery.
