Typing Classes Aid Utah County March of Dimes Drive
Pleas ant Grove Lehi American Fork and Orem high schools and Utah Technical College at Provo participated in a county wide letter writing effort for the March of Dimes. Pleasant Grove students wrote about 1200 letters to businesses, boosting the campaign by an estimated 2000 to 3000 dollars.

Legion Essay Contest Now On in Pleasant Grove
The American Legion Auxiliary Post 70 sponsors an annual February essay contest on Americanism for Pleasant Grove junior and senior high students. Topic for 1971 is Freedom A Privilege or a Burden with 300 to 500 words. Students must be original typed double spaced, submit by February 1 to English teachers, include name address and grade on back, and separate prizes awarded in junior and senior groups. Pleasant Grove Stake Conference Set for January Weekend
The Pleasant Grove Stake holds its first quarterly conference Saturday and Sunday January 16 and 17 at the Stake House. Stake President Leon Walker expects 50 percent or more of the Church in Zion to attend. A 5 p.m. Saturday leadership meeting precedes the sessions. Attendees include Stake Presidency, High Council, Executive Clerk, Bishoprics, ward clerks, Melchizedek Priesthood leaders, Unit and Group Leaders, and secretaries.

Building Permit Totals Near One Million for Grove City
Grove City issued building permits totaling just under one million dollars in a monthly report by building inspector Mapens. The year to date shows 953 520 for all construction including residential, commercial, and repairs. Monthly leaders were April June and November with December following closely. The report lists monthly figures from January to December and notes completion of the stake meeting theme Family Home Evening is for Everyone.
