Rodeo Association Elects New Board Officers

The Strawberry Day Rodeos annual stockholders meeting at city hall elected nine new board members for one year. Neldon Lim was re elected president with Paul Adamson as vice president and Elwood Allen as secretary treasurer. The group discussed improvements including a horse race track and a midget auto track and plans for more summer entertainment at the park. Reed Green and retiring directors were thanked for past work. financial reports showed a successful last June celebration.

Adult Education Program To Be Increased Alpine District

The Alpine District Adult Education program will expand this winter. Questionnaires seek community interests to assign classes. First applicants with most interest may secure instructor choice. Mr and Mrs Clarence Rasmus announce the engagement of their daughter Tha Mae to Malcolm Christianson son of Mrs Mathilda Christianson. The couple will be married in the Salt Lake Temple on January 14. A reception in their honor will follow January 15 in the Third Ward recreation hall.

Cullimore Anniversary Celebrated by Large Family

Mr and Mrs William James Cullimore will observe their Sath wedding anniversary at their home in Lindon on Friday with their 11 sons and daughters and their spouses. Mr Cullimore, born 1866, is son of James Cullimore. The couple were married January 8 1889 in the Logan LDS Temple and have eleven children including William J Cullimore of Garland and Veraindaw. The family includes several grandchildren and spouses, with relatives from many areas.

Funeral Services Held For Samuel Deveraux

Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday at 1 o'clock in the Third Ward LDS chapel for Samuel Deveraux 74 who died Saturday in a Salt Lake hospital. The service featured vocal duets and prayers with Bishop Neill Fugal in charge and included a life sketch by Ernest Dean. Internment followed in the Salem cemetery. Deveraux was born February 18 1873 in Wales and later joined the LDS Church with his family before moving to Salem and dairying for 14 years.

The city reports to Mayor Christiansen and the council that 1947 was outstanding. Key achievements include a 200000 gallon water tank at Battle Creek canyon with a six inch line, costing about 25000 dollars. Thirty five new water connections and 59 building permits totaling 165900 were issued, with thirty new homes built. Fourteen fire calls occurred, eleven inside the city, and other departmental reports will follow.
