Chamber of Commerce and local business leaders unite to court new industry in Pleasant Grove. President Maron Oveson to head the committee with members Ray Greene Jack Love Wesley Janse Harvey Smith and others. Swimming Pool Main Item at Council Meeting

City council heard an update on the swimming pool project from Chairman Hleroy H West and the pool committee. The group reported 36000 in cash and 10000 in pledges with plans to start construction next spring using Veterans Fund money if possible. Edward Roberts Injured in Accident Tuesday

Edward Roberts former Mayor of Mensant Grove was injured while operating a tractor at the new Beautiful sewage disposal plant work site when a hillside gave way. A block of frozen earth struck him and he was knocked from the tractor, leaving him unconscious. He sustained a crushed right leg a cut to the right eye and multiple bruises and lacerations. He was taken to St Marks Hospital for treatment and is reported to be responding favorably.

Lions Banquet Date Set for January in Salt Lake City

About 2 000 Utah Lions and guests are expected at the Midwinter Banquet scheduled for January 30 at the Terrace in Salt Lake City. Marion Halliday of Provo chairs the event with state and local officials, Lion District governors, and international counselors invited. A special guest speaker from Lions International will be announced later. A related dinner on January 29 will honor the guest speaker and spouse, with a noon luncheon January 30 for officials and banquet organizers.

Mountain regions had above average rain and snow in September through November, giving total 1960 precipitation of 12.51 inches. M Men Basketball Halfway Standings Report

With the season half over the Senior and Junior M Men have had a successful basketball run. Exciting games occurred in the first half. Stake officials urge public support as games are held on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Senior M Men play at the Junior High School and Junior M Men at the Girls gym of the Senior High School. Standings to date show five teams in the league.
