North Atah county Ford tractor owners and friends will gather at Alpine Motor to view the Dearborn film Power to Prosper at 8 p.m. Monday February 27. Filmed at Ford Rouge Plant the movie shows testing of a tractor with a large radiation device. The event is part of a nationwide program sponsored by local Ford tractor dealers and Dearborn Motors. Detroit Fordamily Farming Reunion will include refreshments and entertainment for farmers in the area. The meeting aims to attract all Ford tractor owners in North Utah county.

In a spirited contest by the American Legion and auxiliary, Margene Page won first in the essay contest on Liberty and Miay Sarah Allred won second. In junior high, Mary Woolaton first and Joe Lee Ash second. Marianne Moyle won first in the constitutional contest, Ann Neilson and Nadine Neilson tie for second. First prizes were gold medals, second silver, bronze for oratorical awards. Principal Karl Banks presented, Mrs. Banks spoke on national security. Vocal duet Star Spangled Banner by Lynsiel Johnson and Dee Olpin, clarinet Govotte by Mary Lou Morgan.

Former Pleasant Grove Dentist Dies in Salt Lake
Dr. E A Pearson longtime Pleasant Grove dentist died at LDS Hospital after a prolonged heart illness. Born August 3 1898 in Taylorsville he studied at Idaho Falls and BYU and served a LDS mission 1918 to 1920. He practiced in Pleasant Grove and American Fork until retiring in 1944 and was a member of the 132nd Quorum of Seventy. Funeral at Larkin Mortuary Salt Lake City February 27 at 2 p.m.

Eric Njord a former branch president from Jonkoping Sweden will speak on Fulfilled Prophecies in Swedish with translation by Hans Burmeister. A choir of fifty Swedish converts to the LDS church now in Utah will perform and some will bear testimonies translated by Mrs Alroy Gillman. The public is invited to attend this inspiring program.

Funeral Services For Ola Hanson On Monday
Funeral services for Ola Hanson will be held Monday at 1 pm in the Second Ward LDS chapel. Hanson died Thursday night at age noted, after a life as a Utah mining pioneer and fruit grower, with eight children and many descendants. He was born in Sweden and migrated to America around the turn of the century, later settling in Utah and engaging in temple work and church service. Survivors include his widow Bangts Poulson Hanson, sons John and Joseph, daughters Esther Carlson, Hannah Russon, Lilly Liegd, Leda Thorne, Genevieve Fairclough, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, with viewing Sunday evening and Monday before the service.

Mary Ann Culmer Dies At Daughter's Home
Mary Ann Van Wagoner Culmer 74 died at her daughter's Pleasant Grove home after a lingering illness. Born in Midway September 24 1875 she was the daughter of John and Margaret Van Wagoner. She married Edward Culmer in 1895 and resided in Pleasant Grove since 1913. Surviving are her son Glade Culmer daughter Edna Harding eight grandchildren six great grandchildren two brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Pleasant Grove LDS chapel with burial in Pleasant Grove cemetery.

Funeral Services Held Tuesday For Amasa West
Relatives gathered Tuesday at the First Ward LDS chapel for the funeral of Amasa West 84 a Pleasant Grove native who died Saturday at his daughter's home. The service featured hymns and tributes from Alma Trantor and President Lewis Olpin with interment in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. West a miner and later a watchman, leaves a daughter Mrs Gourley a stepson Leonard West and a brother Nathaniel West among 11 grandchildren and 21 others. Out of town mourners included Gourley Searle Trantor Hatch and several West family members.
