Viking wrestlers clinched Region VI by edging Uintah 112 to 107 with five champions to Uintah’s four and Lehi taking two. The state meet arrives Friday and Saturday in Pleasant Grove gym with Bingh ams added from Region V, drawing potential crowds near 2,050 capacity.
The Women's Legislative Council meets March 1 at 9 30 a m in Provo to discuss controversial bills with State Representative Howard C Nielsen of Provo as speaker He is also House leader and BYU statistics professor Dr Nielsen will discuss the bills under Health Committee direction led by Mrs Harry Hardman The meeting venue is Women s Council Hall Provo Utah
Lindon Elementary School fifth and sixth graders spent January 31 to February 2 at Clear Creek. They explored plant adaptation wildlife watching snow measurement and art with activities like scavenger hunts night hikes and student skits. They endured 27 inch snow and freezing to 16 below temperatures and appreciated parental help and the cooks, including Mrs. Smith.
Mayor Jack E. Cook and his wife were in a head-on collision west of Baker while vacationing in California. They were flown by ambulance to a San Bernardino area hospital with broken necks and in intensive care. Their two sons left for California. both were conscious and not in immediate danger.

The Lehi city council met February 20 with all members present except Mayor Cook. Residents complained about TV interference from police radio use and about pigeons. animal control will investigate. Neighbors opposed further southward mobile home expansion. no new proposals were presented. City officials discussed county planning, a Capital Improvement Seminar, and a central fire dispatch idea. Plans for sewer extensions and Cherry Hill Estates paving were reviewed, with bids to be advertised.
Lindon City Council met on Wednesday February 14 at 7 p.m. with Mayor Stanley Walker presiding. Police reported January fines of 548 and 34 traffic citations while outlining 12 assists 6 warrants and 24 citizen complaints. They opposed a local option sales tax bill and discussed water proofing building utilities and sewer work. LEPA funds were requested for two radios two face shields and two gas masks.
Mrs. Herb Gilbert Sr will lead the 1973 Heart Fund Campaign in Pleasant Grove London and Manila communities. Alan F. Toronto, president of the Utah Heart Association, announced the drive will run here and nationwide in the latter part of the year.
The Vikings lost 63 to 57 to Spanish Fork in a tight second half after trailing early. They surged to beat Carlton 81-65 on Tuesday with Wayne Allred scoring 31 and Adamson 22 to push PG closer to state tournament contention. In other league action, Spanish Fork upset American Fork 64-55, keeping Region VI title race tight with three teams in the hunt. Also, Heart Fund drive launches with emphasis on heart disease research and services, naming local chairwomen and volunteers visiting neighborhoods in March.
