Sewing Classes Held at Linton Grade School

Linden Ward Plans Old Folks Reunion in Linden Ward

The Linden ward hosts its annual Old Folks day and Ward Reunion today at 11 am in the ward chapel for members over 16. Life-Long Resident Margaret Christensen Dies at 73

Margaret Dorothy Christensen 73 died Monday at 3:30 PM after a weeklong pneumonia illness. Born in Denmark December 7, 1859, she immigrated to Utah at age six and settled in Pleasant Grove. Survived by husband John C. Christensen, six sons, 22 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and siblings. Funeral Thursday at 1 PM in Pleasant Grove with burial in the city cemetery.

FERA Advances Sidewalk and Street Improvements Citywide

FERA directs multiple sidewalk and street projects across the city. A new north side sidewalk from Arrowhead service station to city limits near the gravel and drainage, with a cobble rock reinforcement, nears completion. Additional walks along Locust Avenue and east of Loader property are planned, with several culverts widened or replaced and roads graded and widened. Four white ash trees were removed to install proper sidewalk alignment. The Bank of Pleasant Grove to Ed Bunnell and Locust Avenue to state highway projects await final approval.

Scout Training Class Held Wednesday Evening

A district Scout Council class met at the high school Wednesday evening. Scout masters, troop committeemen, and some scouts attended. Mr. Languard of Sweden, visiting Utah to study L D S church scout methods, joined in the class work and group exercises were conducted as in weekly meetings.

The Pleasant Grove Junior High School will stage a colorful operetta on February 26 and 27 with Principal George W. Larsen as manager and Ford M. Paulson guiding music. Virginia Jacobs and William West lead principal roles, a 60 member chorus backs the show, and staging, dancing, costumes, lighting, and scenery promise an entertaining program with no charge.
