The Pleasant Grove Old Folks club hosted a Saturday gathering with about 150 seniors writers and church dignitaries. A. F. Pardihn of Amer greeted attendees, Williamson presided, and Thomas Fenton led songs. Bishop Garnett gave the invocation as entertainment included mandolin, banjo and humorous sketches.
An Old Folks Day event at the ward on February 11 featured a noon dinner and a program led by Ray Gillman. Erma Accompanied by Norns tion-Elweed Baxter performed, with various vocal, guitar, and violin solos, readings by Polly Har wis, and a cast including Mae Shoell and Murrel Walker Downs. Proceeds supported day activities.
Ward N plans an Old Folks Day on February 22 at Hof Theater. Older residents will gather for a short program and a chicken dinner at Linden or Lindon. The M. I. A. will speak to guests and all other members are asked to contribute a small ad to help defray costs.
Next Wednesday Washington's birthday the Manila ward plans a ward reunion and Old Folks day. Members over 60 are guests of honor with 11 am gathering and 12 noon dinner. An afternoon program precedes an evening public dance. Committee includes Dan E. Adams chair, Annie Adams, Pred Southwick, Nettie Wadley, Ellen Wadley, H. B. Warnick.
Gennieve Fugal, daughter of Mr and Mrs J P Furak, acclaimed stay for the B Y U production Every Woman. Pleasant Grove attendees reported a strong performance with Fugal shaping a challenging title role and Ward Clerk delivering a noted passionate part. The hometown cohort expects future success in theater and education.
Ten Years Ago Now reports a Lindon Second Ward reunion held Tuesday with A H Lowe as folks committee chair. Old folks attended the Lighthouse Naw play at Lindon Hall and Mrs Christena Williamson received a plant for being the oldest. In Pleasant Grove, Humphries gave carnations and W H Hayes led a lively toast. A Sunshine committee hosted a surprise for ward teacher Alexander Bullock. Births include a girl born in St Louis to MF and Mrs Richards. An Alpine District School teachers institute met at Pleasant Grove High with Principal Gourley welcoming. The Manila Sunday School class held a dancing social with Swenson Atwood Monson Warnick and wives invited.
Pleasant Grove community notices include Elizabeth Newman slowly improving at L. D. 8 hospital, influenza cases for James Thorne and Lucan Johnson, while Bishop Thorne of LIndon makes a Salt Lake trip. Local events cover dancing lessons, Valentine parties, school clubs, a basketball game, and numerous visits, illnesses, and social gatherings among residents and families.

The Ladies Literary Club met at Mrs. S A Kirk’s home with good attendance. Mrs. Jones county Demonstrator spoke on other county clubs and L A Kirk gave a fine talk on war debts. Anns Beth Larson and Mariam Adamson sang a duet. Two book reviews were postponed to March 1 due to time.
