Six directors were elected at the Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce annual election held last Saturday during the turkey dinner dance at PG High School. Elected for two years were Golden Peay S Christen sen A B Gibson Levi Iverson Lloyd West and Jos Christiansen Hollmverirectors Grimm Ghelstensen B Bradley and Toward Warnick. Outgoing directors were Harvey Smith Robert Mayrott George Paul Area Arams Raledon Tobbins and J B Gibson. Arey Adame was master of ceremony and introduced the following photo. Address of Welcome President Harvey Smith. President Smith urged cooperation of all organizations to tackle community projects. Dr A Ray Olpin President of the University of Utah spoke and received a welcome gavels. Secretary Vitace Radmall read the annual financial report. Loyle Bailey sang two solos accompanied by Mrs Bailey. J D Goodwin of Lehi entertained with a magician act. Dancing followed. The Mayor and City Council and wives were guests of the Chamber.

Charles Christiansen son of Mr and Mrs Owen Christiansen has been discharged from the US Navy and with his wife and baby plans to settle at home. Wingint Bastian of the US Air Corps arrived from MacDill Field Florida for a 90 day furlough with his parents and Mrs. Louis Bastian. Private Hilton visits his parents Mr and Mrs J C Hilton and will report back to Fort Ord on February 14. Hilton's brother Joseph has been promoted to Staff Sergeant and is stationed at Kyushu Japan. Eugene E West has arrived home after an army discharge on January 2. he served in Tokyo Japan as Staff Sergeant and is the son of Mrs Ethel W. Anderson of Spanish Fork. Stanley Walker, a Groves Young war veteran, has returned to Elvina after almost three years in the Pacific. he served 25 months in New Guinea and the Philippines as Technical Sergeant and was chief clerk and personnel director of Base G Aven Command at Mon Ma. Stanley is the son of Mr and Mrs HS Walker.

Memorial services for Vernon Radmall will be held next Wednesday at Ward Chapel at 7 0 p m. The service is in Ward Chapel through cooperation with the Pleasant Grove Post No 70 of the Amelia Legion. Vernon is the widower of Mrs Eldsee Russo of Lehi and was killed in the rescue operation.

Carl Warren of Spokane region has been awarded a contract to excavate trenches and lay 4.5 miles of steel pipe for the Salt Lake Aqueduct drainage section. Warren bid $442,761, the lowest of five bids opened December 27 at the Denver office, with work to start within 30 days and finish in 210 days. Steel structures are needed at four high pressure points. fabrication bid pending with Utah Construction Company as low bidder at $523,400.
