National Guard Unit Redesignated As Service Battery
A Pleasant Grove Utah National Guard unit will be inspected Monday at 7 30 p m to redesignate from medical detachment to a service battery of the Second Battalion 2234 Field Artillery. Five officers will command the unit with First Lieutenant Eleroy West in charge and First Lieutenant Richard W. Gilchrist to oversee the ammunition train. Colonel H Burr Parker will inspect for Federal recognition. 26 men form the unit, with induction planned for March 3 to reach 92 active guardsmen. Inquiry invites young men from local officers.
