Early Pioneer of Pleasant Grove Answers Last Gall
David Thorne 79 an early Pleasant Grove pioneer died at home after a two week illness following strokes. Born December 10 1850 in Kendal Green Middlesex England he arrived in Utah as an infant his family reaching Salt Lake Valley in 1851. He helped build roads and the first railroad through Echo and Weber canyons. Survived by widow and eight children. funeral held at Timpanogos Stake Tabernacle with Bishop C A Garnett in charge and interment at Pleasant Grove cemetery.

Annis Katherine Sorenson Dies at 82 in Vineyard
Annis Katherine Sorenson 82 died suddenly at her Vineyard home Sunday morning January 26. Born in Tarring Denmark August 16 1848 she emigrated to Moron in 1888 later living in Pleasant Grove before moving to Vineyard. Survived by sons Soren Mark and Andrew K Sorenson of Vineyard fourteen grandchildren nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral held in Vineyard January 28 at 1 pm with interment in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Death of Aged Utah County Woman Mrs Anne S Nelson
Mrs Anne S Nelson aged 93 dies Monday January 27 at her daughter’s Provo home from age related complications. Born in Sweden November 28 1856 she moved to Pleasant Grove Utah in 1873 and remained active in the L D S church and Relief Society. Survived by three daughters one son twenty two grandchildren twenty six great grandchildren interment in Pleasant Grove cemetery with services at Timpanogos stake tabernacle scheduled Friday at 1 pm.

Born January 17 1880 in Lindon she lived there all her life and is survived by sons Joseph John Alfred and Haas and daughter Mrs Harriet Green and Harry Aston.

Check Artist Is Captured Tom Jones Arrested for Forgery
Tom Jones of Orem was arrested by Officer Bert Halliday on forgery after cashing a forged check in Pleasant Grove. He escaped to Provo, confessed to cashing a $24 check using J W Gillman’s name and a $42 check with A V Watkins’ name. He tried another $24 check at Buster Brown shoe store and will be arraigned in Provo city court. Police continue a thorough forgery investigation. Mrs Ella Williams has been visiting relatives in Salt Lake.
