ih School Play to Be Presented Tonight

The ih School presents a staged comedy titled The py featuring Judge Dorset of the Supreme Chicago. Cecily and two men plan entertaining schemes for the Prince at the North Shore home as characters include the Baroness Dorset Secenbach Valeria Lorinda and the Baroness jewels. Cast includes Arvile Clark Alfred Dexter Kathrine etc.

Services for Margaret Elizabeth Wright

Funeral services were held Wednesday in the stake tabernacle with Bishop B. H. Adams presiding. The Relief Society choir sang and several speakers offered remarks including W. L. Hayes and J. W. Gilman. A biographical sketch was read, and interment followed at City Cemetery with grave dedication by Thomas A. Atkinson.

Fire Truck Being Equipped by Pleasant Grove Fire Department

Pleasant Grove firefighters monitor progress on the citys newly purchased truck being assembled and outfitted by Hans Williamson Chris Williamson Ike Hayes Raymond Nelson and J Kemp. The completed vehicle will rival any small town fire truck in the state. Mrs H W Jacobs returns from L D S hospital after medical treatment. Mrs W H Barney comes home after ten days visiting four married sons and daughters in Carbon county.

Pleasant Grove Residents Celebrate Thanksgiving With Family Visits

Pleasant Grove residents hosted and visited kin during Thanksgiving weekend with many locals traveling and hosting relatives from Salt Lake City Lehi Oakland and Alpine. The social round included dinners sewing bees and a miscellaneous shower for Mae Thorne with numerous attendees from Provo Orem and surrounding towns.

Shower honors Mrs Mark Nicholes at Am. Fork

Am Fork locals hosted a Friday night shower for Mrs Mark Nicholes formerly Miss Aidean Olsen. Sixteen guests attended a Progressive Rock prize went to Table 2 by Helen Singleton, Melissa Greenwood, Sarah Earl and Mildred Chipman. A candy bouquet placed gifts on small tables and a Christmas dinner followed with Edith Marsh as toast mistress and a program including Ruth Forbes Anderson, Mrs Carlson, Mildred Muir and Helen Hallsey.

Tim panogos stake MIA board meeting report

The Tim panogos stake MIA board met Tuesday evening at Dr and Mrs G Andersons home. General business and assignments for next Tuesday were discussed. New courses in speech and music led by Ford Poulson and Boyd Nelson were approved to follow Retold Stories and Drama. A luncheon for board members followed the meeting.

Canning Co Distributes Checks to Growers

Pleasant Grove Canning company distributed about $20,000 to tomato growers of the county last Monday and Tuesday. The crop was one of the best paying in the state this year, helping growers meet yearly bills.

Red Cross unit elects officers in Utah county chapter meeting

The Timpanogos unit of the Utah county Red Cross held its annual meeting in the Seminary building. James D. Thome was named chair, Millie Poulson production manager, M. S. Christiansen secretary treasurer, with ward chairmen for First through Windsor wards. Each ward will appoint a lady assistant. Manilla ward led in new members with 30, as the drive continues and urges wider membership citywide.

At the monthly union gathering in the tabernacle the Relief Society and Primary officers meet with Priesthood quorums. Dr John Henry Evans discusses his book Joseph Smith the American Prophet with broad church praise. Public invited for 2:00 p.m. talk.

Waterworks Improvements Reach Completion in 1933

The year’s waterworks project was finished on Tuesday. Last dirt was moved on the line from Martin Peterson’s to William Stape’s and from L. P. Harvey’s to Joseph Adams’, one block east. A thousand feet of 1 inch pipe was installed at the cemetery to support spring lawn and flower plantings.

Wright Dies at 179 After Long Illness in Utah

Margaret Elizabeth Wright 179 died Sunday after weeks of age related debility. Born in England January 23 1854 she moved with family to Pennsylvania then Utah walking across the plains at age nine. She worked for Brigham Young in Salt Lake City later lived in Lindon Pleasant Grove and was active in the L D S Relief Society. Survived by several children grandchildren and great grandchildren and a sister, services planned Wednesday at 1 pm in the Second ward chapel.

Harold Walker to U S A C for Farm Bureau assembly

Harold S. Walker leaves Monday for Logan to join county Farm Bureau representatives at the U S A C. He will study special subjects with other state delegates to train farmers before spring planting and plans to stay in Logan until December 14. Miss Gennieve Fugal and Bernard Walker lead in the Senior B Y U play The Ghost Train in Provo tonight. Ford West departs for a mission, with family bidding him farewell in Provo Friday.
