Grover Grove Canning Co Opens Tomato Plant Monday

Grove Canning Co plans to open its tomato processing plant on Monday August 21. The site has undergone extensive renovations including packing improvements and upgraded facilities. The plant will operate continuously to handle contracted tomatoes and provide seasonal employment for local youths as operations begin.

Grove’s fastballers win a doubleheader at American and home to seize a share of first place tied with Cavemen. Tim Rich leads hitters, with Mercer, Young, and Christiansen contributing. Pleasant Grove next faces a Friday game.

Windsor Ward Day Brings 400 Dinners and Activities

Windsor Ward held a Tuesday August 15 reunion with 2 pm games by 4 H members and local men and women, a 6 pm Relief Society dinner serving 400 plates, followed by a grounds program including musical acts, dances, stunts, and a final hour of lawn dancing. Proceeds go to ward maintenance.

Triple M 4 H Club Holds Meeting

The Triple M 4 H Club of Manila met Saturday at Lee Harper's home. Kathryn Jesson won praise for an artistic flower arrangement. Girls brought vases of attractively arranged flowers. Refreshments followed. An August 23 meeting at H V Swenson's home will cover bed making with Adena Swenson and a collar cuffs demonstration by Miss Peterson. Ellen Agren from Utah County USA C of Logan spoke to seniors on cleaning and pressing men’s clothing.

Mrs. J. L. Harvey Injured In Provo Canyon Fall

Mrs. J. L. Harvey suffered a broken right hip after a Sunday stumble near Aspen Grove in Provo canyon during a dinner outing with Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCombe. She was taken to Pleasant Grove for medical care after a prior influenza illness left her weak and dizzy.

R. F. C. Shifts Distributing Day to Saturday at City Hall

The R. F. C. committee announces a schedule change for its weekly distributing day. It will be held Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at city hall, replacing Monday sessions. C. O. Newman W. W. Lim and J. L. Adams lead the effort.

Sundberg Sibling Engagement for Ellis Sundberg and Owen Cullimore

Mr and Mrs I V Sundberg announce the engagement of their daughter Ellis to Owen Cullimore son of Mr and Mrs A L Cullimore of Lindon.
