Second Ward M I A A Repeat Apple sauce Play Next Thursday

The Second Ward MIA will stage a second performance of the Applesauce art comedy on Thursday evening May 4 at 8 15 in the land Ward Amusement Hall. The production drew six hundred or more attendees last week and received strong praise from stake members and others who wished to see it.

Funeral Services Held Wednesday For Eva L. Louder

Funeral services for Eva L Louder were held Wednesday at Pleasant Grove with Bishop J A West and speakers reflecting on faith and life. The service featured music, an invocation, and a graveside blessing at Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Survived by husband Earl B Loader and four daughters, plus parents, siblings, and one grandchild.

War time social events fill the week with gatherings at the homes of Commander and Mrs. George Hunter and other families. A baby girl arrived Saturday for Mr and Mrs. W. Walker, with news of the father serving in the South Pacific. Numerous Rotary and Second Ward activities honor service members including Staff Sergeant Banasi Smith. Teachers and families shared a pleasant Lindon School evening, and a ward party celebrated a birthday with young guests and cake.

Pleasant Grove Post Office Set for Second Class Status

The Pleasant Grove Post Office will be upgraded from third to second class on July 1, 1944, following a revenue check by federal inspectors. Postmaster Arnold Richins announced the change, enabling hiring of three clerks and future relocation to larger quarters. M D Wallace to speak at Sacrament meeting. a BYU student group will provide a vocal and instrumental program at 7:30 PM in the First Ward.

Memorial flag presented to Grant Hall family by U S Navy

A Navy ceremony honored Seaman Jack Wallace Hall, missing in the South Pacific, as a memorial flag was presented to Grant Hall. The service featured remarks by Mrs. G Y Anderson and Eugene Harvey, with music by Warren Kirk and Kathryn Kirk Woolfe. The stake Aaronic Priesthood officers attended.
