Quarterly Conference of Timpanogos Stake Concludes

The Timpanogos Stake held its quarterly conference at the stake tabernacle on April weekend. Speakers included W. W. Warnick and L. Wright with testimonies and sermons on temple marriage, obedience, and keeping the faith amid prosperity as members participated in choir, readings, and devotional addresses.

At the executive committee meeting in Dr C O Jensen’s office on Friday April 21 the lineup of Strawberry Day committee chairs was announced C S Hill concessions Hans Williamson booklet Earl Louder strawberries Nels Swenson parade Clarence Hilton amusements E J Swenson advertising Erving Johnson entertainment at ball park J Clark queen committee Plans for the 12th annual celebration are underway with hope to secure two prominent baseball teams and possibly an auto polo or push ball event to add entertainment while keeping costs in check Local people are urged to use concessions and support the effort to ensure a successful day.

Alhambra Theatre Set to Open Friday

The Alhambra Theatre prepares for a Friday opening after repairs. Manager William Littlejohn, who runs two Price theatres and one at Helper, will lead the new venue with his son Alex overseeing operations. The Littlejohns bring five years in the picture show business and Pleasant Grove invites community support for the new local theatre.

Halliday from Salt Lake staying a few days. and numerous local gatherings. A baby was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Tomlinson. Pleasant Grove High School Home Economics Tea Fashion Show

The Home Economics girls of Pleasant Grove High School hosted a tea and fashion show Thursday at 7 PM. Invitations went to mothers and special friends, with a display of articles crafted by the students and light refreshments served during an informal visiting hour. Mothers greatly appreciated the show.

Local girl earns place on college rifle team

Leah Stagg of Pleasant Grove, a freshman in Home Economics at Utah Agricultural College in Logan, was selected by Colonel Waller to represent the Women's Rifle team after keen competition. Captain Miss Wadley notes the squad is training for several challenges ahead.

Debating Team Completes Season With Wins

The final debate of the season was held Monday with Lincoln High School winning in one triangle and Provo in the other. Lincoln American Fork and Pleasant Grove won one triangle while Lehi B U High and Provo won the other. Provo and Lincoln advance to contest final honors.
