Water project talk at county meeting across towns

Pleasant fire department holds regimental drill

Pleasant fire department conducted a Monday evening drill with close inspection of gear and the fire truck. On Tuesday three firemen responded to a haystack fire at Reed farm southwest of the city, burning five tons of wild hay and an estimated $125 loss as winds spread flames through weeds.

Timpanogos Stake Holds Quarterly Conference This Weekend

The Timpanogos stake assembles a quarterly conference Saturday evening and Sunday April 11 and 12. Charles A. Callie, longtime president of the Southern States Mission, will represent church authorities and invites former missionaries to the Saturday night session. A Sunday morning program organized by the general Sunday School board will include several board members. Garage Improves Facilities At Pleasant Grove Garage

The Pleasant Grove Garage Inc at Main Street expanded during the past week with cement curbing, two electric gas pumps, new creasing equipment and a hydraulic lift to aid in car greasing. Management plans a showroom front and rear workshop, adding space and convenience for garage workers and motorists.

Campus Improvements Underway At Local High School

W P A workers finished the campus grandstand and began a six inch cement coping to separate the cinder track from the center lawn. The lawn was replanted after fall planting failed. It is rumored that the district athletic meet of four high schools will be held here in May. The campus will be convenient for athletic exercises.

A meeting of Timpanogos league members will be held in American Fork this evening. Members for the coming year include Springville Provo Heber Lehi American Fork Orem and Pleasant Grove. The session will fully organize and set plans and a schedule for the upcoming season.

City Council Allocates Water Service and WPA Aid in 1936

The council approves Pleasant Grove Irrigation Co to maintain and distribute water for 1936 at actual cost and hires labor from WPA projects to fund city improvements. Gas and oil purchases for city projects will be at 30 day patronage from Corleissen, Inc. and other stations. A music program proposal includes matching funds for band concerts and hiring two instructors from the B. U. for instrumental lessons.
