Four-Post Legion Auxiliary Meet Held In Am Fork
UPRNPTLENE prescient warm sacs Banks of Monday evening of last week made her official visit at a meeting of four units of District 4 American Legion Auxiliary at the American Legion Hall in Am Fork. Sixty-five ladies attended from Oress Pleasant Grove and Am. Botk were present. President Banks outlined next year's work and district president Argilla Harvey spoke. Mrs Banks and Mrs Harvey were each presented with a cake. Luncheon followed with music by the American Fork unit. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nelson was buried Friday afternoon in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The infant died Thursday at American Fork Hospital.

DUP National Convention Opens in Salt Lake City
The Daughters of Utah Pioneers held their semi annual national convention April 3 in the Lafayette Ballroom Hotel Utah with 105 delegates from all states and Hawaii. Mrs Kate B Carter was reelected president and Mrs Lucile H Walker remained chaplain. Mrs Fern E Smith led the Pleasant Grove camp as delegate. Walker served on the luncheon reception committee for past presidents. Attendees toured the new DUP building under construction set for completion by Christmas.

Lindon residents are urged to cooperate in a general clean up and beautification effort directed by the Town Board and Beautification committee. Instructions call for trash in containers, road-side piles to be collected April 11 by the city truck, with burning discouraged on dry farms, and removal of old machinery from streets. The committee will oversee playground maintenance, street spraying with owners, shrub and flower care programs, and a demonstration of flower arrangements to present Lindon with the county’s cleanest face.

Funeral services for J William Watkins husband of Laila Watkins formerly of Pleasant Grove were held Thursday in Alpine. Born September 22 1949 in Alpine he was the son of Carlos Cavarard and Nannie Hall Watkins and a WW II era graduate of American Park High School. He died April at a hospital in Portela California survivors include his wife children and many relatives in Alpine and nearby communities.
