Funeral services for Parsons F Upharda 58 who died of a heart ailment Sunday in Gandy Utah will be held Friday at 2 p m in the First Ward Chapel Bishop Lewis Olpin to officiate Mr Richards born in Pleasant Grove Utah July 2 188? to George and Ada Alfredge Richards He married Bertaongh and had four children after her death he married PGRN Millikan and left several sons and daughters and stepchildren Survivors include his mother Ada Richards brothers and sisters and many relatives Interment at Pleasant Grove City Cemetery directed by Olpin Bros

Funeral Services Conducted For Myrtle A Green

Funeral services were held Monday in the ward chapel for Mrs Myrtle Adamson Green who died last Tuesday. Bishop Lewia Olpin presided with The Lord's Prayer sung. A life sketch was read by J L Thorne who eulogized her and offered prayers for the family. Speakers included neighbors and church leaders. musical numbers featured That Wonderful Mother of Mine and other selections. Burial followed in American Folk Cemetery with Olpin Brothers directing.

Service Men News: Weeks Promoted to Staff Sergeant

Stanley Weeks has been advanced to Staff Sergeant while stationed in Germany. He recently told his parents he is enjoying a furlough in Switzerland. Also, Stanley R Harris, son of Mr and Mrs S B Hartis, Pleasant Grove, was discharged from the Army after 16 months overseas with the 1 Machine Gunner unit of the 5th Armored Division, earning the European Theater Pub Medal with three battle stars, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Rifleman’s Badge, and the Victory Ribbon.

Four girls and four boys from Pleasant Grove High School compete in the Inquiring Editor current events quiz sponsored by Telegram and KDYL. The event aims to promote sound reading and clear thinking. Team members include Jay McFarlane Hyrum Bradley Stephen Whiteshead Grant Anderson Mauraine Esklund Irene Warnick Mavis Loader Eloise Richards. The mixed chorus performed the school song. The event lineup includes a Seminary dance April 5 and a free dance April 3 in Pleasant Grove with Alpine District participation and local sponsors.

Mr and Mrs Glendon Liston entertained a merry group of friends at a Mendla housewarming last Thursday evening. Guests built rumpus hats from provided papers while the Hasler themed event offered lunch and games.
