Streets and Homes Must Be Numbered Before City Mail Delivery

Pleasant Grove officials prepare for post office rule requiring numbered streets and houses before inspector visits around April 10. A part of a new two foot routes and one mounted route plan includes 350 stops per shift and roughly 450 patrons on the mounted route. 4-H Club Members To Be Enrolled In Early April

Alpine Day To Be Held In Pleasant Grove May 16

Alpine Day, a traditional get-together for junior and senior high schools in the Alpine School District, will be held at Pleasant Grove High School on May 16. Members To Civil Defense Be Sworn In

A meeting for all Pleasant Grove civil defense members will be held next Tuesday night at city hall. Judge Newman will administer the oath of loyalty to the United States and to civilian defense. Members must deny any communist ties and will gain restricted movement rights in assigned duties during emergencies. An entomologist at USAC Logan recommends early spring alfalfa treatment to control the weevil. The method uses Chlordane or DDT-based sprays at the five inch shoot stage, applied by ground equipment with 6 to 8 gallons of water per acre, timing typically between March 15 and April 19. The goal is to kill overwintered adults before egg laying, protecting second cutting growth and reducing crop damage.
