Auguste Joseph Ricord, a 61 year old French Argentine alleged narcotics overlord, was extradited from Asuncion to New York City to face trial as a master heroin smuggler. U.S. authorities seized Ricord at President Stroessner Airport and placed him on a chartered flight. The indictment alleges he transported two tons of heroin valued at about 2.5 billion dollars.
