Lt Lakin Killed in Vietnam While Attacking Bunker
Second Lt. John H. Lakin USMC son of Mr and Mrs doko Lakin of 10 Wood Road was killed in action in Vietnam while attempting to destroy an enemy bunker. He would have been 33 in June and served two months in country with a Reconnaissance Battalion of the 1st Marine Division. He was born in Water, Inc Town and attended Choctawchee and Petersburg High Schools, earning a degree in aeronautical engineering from Auburn University. Council Moves To Ban Unvented Gas Heaters In Fort Walton Beach
